Morton's Fork Catering Group is proud to announce their latest achievement in being accredited with the quality benchmark ISO9001:2000. Based in Chichester, Morton's Fork was established in 1998 and specialises in creating an individual and flexible approach to all aspects of catering and hospitality solutions. With support from Business Link, the company achieved their quality management programme in under a year. General Manager Katja Petzold is delighted with the achievements: "I wanted to ensure that the company motto of consistency and excellence permeated every area of our business and divisions, as well as ensuring our culture of Kaizen (continual improvement) was embedded within our systems. The assessor from BMTrada found our quality management approach to hospitality to be unconventional in the way that it impressed her how it showed through the characters and culture of our teams and company. She was particularly impressed with our attention to customer feedback. A challenging project, but with increasing industry challenges and customer expectations, in demonstrating our commitment to quality to our clients, staff and suppliers, we now have the fundamental building blocks to continually monitor the business at every conceivable level." Kerry Kyriacou, Business Link advisor, says the company has been remarkable in achieving the quality accreditation in such a short period of time. This will further contribute to the innovative service and distinguished client base for which Morton's Fork is renowned. All parts of the companys philosophies are embedded within their quality management systems; this was an important objective for the chosen quality consultant DG Edworthy Associates. Doug Edworthy, principal consultant noted that "Katja was very clear from the outset, that the company's culture was to be paramount in designing the quality systems and that the chosen consultant would need to assimilate into the Morton's Fork ethos to ensure the most effective outcome. The approach Morton's Fork took, although unique, has meant that I believe they have a user friendly management system to quality of which all staff are a part, and will use every day." The quality management system of Morton's Fork operates on an internal and external basis. Every full time member of staff is involved in the company's dedication to continual improvement, and completes a weekly 4 tick test to head office on any element (of their choice) in the standards of performance within the business. The company have a full set of customer feedback procedures at different levels to capture as much information as possible. Partnerships with suppliers are crucial and the company have standards in managing, monitoring and selecting their suppliers. |
